The Romans Course

By the Bible Society. Click here to access the course.

The Romans Course is a ten-session programme which helps you study Paul’s letter to the Romans. The course tackles ten big themes found in the book of Romans which are key to understanding the Christian faith:

Gospel – How can we become confident in our faith?
Sin – What's wrong with the world?
Salvation – What's so amazing about grace?
Peace – How can we find rest in a stressful world?
Freedom – How can we avoid negative cycles?
Hope – What has God promised?
Mystery – If God is sovereign, what is our role?
Devotion – How can we live full on for God?
Community – How can we live together in love?
Mission – How can we be ambitious with the gospel?

A recommendation from Rachel Webb:
“We highly recommend The Romans Course, a resource from the Bible Society by Andrew Ollerton. It’s a series of ten studies which travels through the whole of Romans using videos, discussion, reflection and daily readings.

Our lifegroup found the videos very stimulating, especially those shot in Rome itself, which give an extra insight into the life of people and church of the time.

The course is very accesible but also saw our group delving deep into discussion, the course very skilfully guides participants through a very complex book, to understand more of the background, and to be challenged by its practical relevance has made it a great series for our group.

On a practical note, we found we did not need a copy of the participants’ guide as long as the daily readings for each session were posted on our group WhatsApp.  The ‘leading load’ is light, just needing someone to look ahead each week and to steer the discussion from time to time. There is a suggested ‘pay as you can’ donation, but the course is also available free.”
