EvangElism and Missions
Outreach is a fundamental part of life at New Life Baptist Church, which we believe should undergird everything we do as a church. Like a stick of rock, wherever you cut through the life of the church, the word “evangelism” should be found running through its core. The outreach is co-ordinated by the Outreach Focus Group.
As well as missions overseas – see the links for more details – we seek to reach the people of Northallerton and the surrounding area in a variety of ways. All church Partners (members) are encouraged to practise Friendship evangelism; and there is a programme of events to which people can be invited. These events offer a variety of settings in which people can meet with the risen Lord. In the past few years we have
- held a week long tent mission – “Event in the Tent” – in a park in the town;
- put on 6 performances of “Godspell” to which around 1,000 people from the town and surrounding area came;
- run Alpha courses on a regular basis (see the Alpha page under “Ministries”);
- had visits from Bobby Ball, Don Francisco, Graham Hepburn and others;
- held a Harvest Supper
- to name but a few!
INTERNATIONAL WEEKEND
NLBC and IGO host an International weekend each year
that attracts Mission Organisations from all over
the country. The aim of
the weekend is to increase awareness of Missions overseas and to create opportunities
for people to get involved either by going, praying or giving.
If you are interested please contact the office at NLBC or contact IGO
at missionsweekend@igo.org.uk
