New life for Romania

Dear Friends

New Life for Romania began in 1994 with a small group from Northallerton venturing into the Timisoara region of Romania with the aim to improve the living conditions of orphanages; as the program has developed we now focus on the town of Aiud in Central Transylvania. In addition to working closely with a clinic which is seeking to provide medical care into the local impoverished community, we also provide aid in the form of food, clothing and household goods to over two hundred families. Long term we are also seeking ways to help the Romanian people to rebuild and become self-sufficient. Because this is long term we need to continue to provide aid as we have done very successfully over the last number of years.

Very importantly is that we oversee every stage, from collecting and assembling the aid, packing the truck, and then finally transporting it to Aiud. Once the aid is in Romania, distribution is organised by our good friends Dorin and Becky Docea. Every penny donated goes directly to the project, all administration costs are met by New Life Baptist Church Northallerton. A video report is also made which is available on request.

We are pleased that this is in every sense a Northallerton project involving the whole community. Every school in the locality is actively involved in some way, the Friarage Hospital, the town churches and Council, local newspapers, youth organisations and even the local prison have all kindly given us their patronage.

We say a very big 'thank you' to all of them and to you for your continued support.

Family Support Project

We now sponsor a new and exciting project; as funds permit we are supporting a number of carefully selected families with medical and subsistence aid; the vision is to prevent more children being abandoned into orphanages. We support the services at the clinic of: doctor, nurse, dentist and pharmacist. We will provide funding for blood tests, family planning and medication. We also provide regular basic food and vitamins as well as household supplies.

We are looking for sponsorship partners to join our vision. If you are interested then please contact us for further details.
