Mission Partners

As a church we seek to be actively involved in the communities where we live and work. We desire to go and be with others, rather than expect others to come and be with us. Jesus was often the guest at people’s homes rather than the host. We are constantly learning how to share the good news of the gospel with those in our community.

Please see below both the international outreach that we are involved with, as well as what we’re doing here at home in Northallerton.

New Life Ghana

New Life Ghana is a charitable project committed to the physical and spiritual welfare of children in Ghana. The project links voluntary workers in England with Ghanaian partners working on the ground to care for the welfare of people in their communities.

Supporting the work of Pastor Osmond Osei Owusu in a rural area of Ghana - to the west of the capital Accra - we aim to provide resources, give practical support, and share expertise.

Please visit the New Life Ghana website to discover more about the project, our friends involved, and to learn how you can get involved!

New Life Romania

New Life Romania partners with Transform Europe Network (TEN), a Gospel-based charity, to support a church-based mission in Constanta on the Black Sea. The leaders of the church, Beni and Ancuta Micle, live sacrificially and have an amazing vision for their area. This includes:

Social Outreach

Men are often unable to find work in the surrounding villages. It is not uncommon for children as well as parents to go hungry. The church distributes food and practical aid to poor families and widows, and NLR supports this financially. NLR has also helped finance a number of polytunnels which enable some of the families to support themselves from selling their produce. We are also helping the church in Constanta to equip a house that they have built for a persecuted family in one of the villages.

Evangelism and Church Plants

Beni, Ancuta and their church share the Good News of the love of God as they go, and as a result four new churches have already been planted. More are being planned in an area that is otherwise completely empty of Gospel outreach. The hope that is shared has led to many coming to faith and being baptised. NLR supports this outreach work financially. We also send out teams two or three times a year to help run special events and weekend retreats for married couples, children and youth, and women.

Kids’ Clubs

The next generation is being reached in the villages through Bible stories, games and crafts. NLR gives funding for the crafts, other resources and snacks. Children from poor families are also helped by NLR support for the materials they need for school.

Bible School

The pastors organise and run a nationally-recognised 2-year course of Bible study and leadership training. Graduates are then able to move on and pastor new church plants or minister in other aspects of church leadership.

How can I get involved with New Life Romania?

  • for safety for the leaders

  • for favour with the local authorities

  • for financial provision for ongoing aid

  • for encouragement for the developing leaders being trained

  • for the new believers: in Romania, Christians face much persecution and are often excluded by their families and society

Seeking global justice

In addition to the work we do through our international ministries we partner with Tearfund and have links with other organisations such as Christian Aid, Toilet-twinning and Hope for Justice. We strive to take action on climate and environmental issues, and proudly state that we are a Fairtrade Church. You can view more about these organisations below:

Fairtrade products guarantee a better deal for farmers around the world and help to improve conditions in the poorest communities through the fairtrade premium (providing clinics, sanitation, education, business training etc). As a Fairtrade Church we are committed to:

  • Using Fairtrade tea and coffee after services and in all meetings for which we have responsibility

  • Moving forward on using other Fairtrade products

  • Promoting Fairtrade during Fairtrade Fortnight and during the year through events, services and other activities whenever possible
