Church Life @ NLBC

We believe that an important part of belonging to our church is helping one another grow in our Christian life, to put down roots, and to "grow to become the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ." (Ephesians 4:15)

With a church family as diverse as ours, church life can look very different to each individual. From tots groups to elderly outreach, and from coffee mornings to table tennis, all that goes on here at New Life is threaded with our shared love for Christ, and our love for one another.

We hope that on this page you will get a taste of what it means to be a part of our family.

Partnership @ New Life

Being a partner of NLBC is all about doing life together. It means choosing to join with us in community, in prayer, and in mission. This can look like many different things, such as serving on a team, attending church meetings, and giving towards the work of the church.

You may have heard of membership to a church before, but here at New Life we firmly believe that we are to work in partnership together - rather than just being a member of a club.

Partnership is about sharing what we have, joining together as a family, and working towards a common goal. It is deeply rooted in the biblical idea of koinonia.

Becoming a partner happens in four stages:

  1. Getting involved in church life

  2. Reading through our partnership information

  3. Chatting it through with an Elder/Pastor

  4. Committing to join us in partnership

To find out more about partnership, please get in touch with the church office.

Lifegroups

What is a Lifegroup?

Lifegroups are at the heart of church life. They are small, friendly communities of people who meet regularly and encourage each other in their Christian faith.

They discover together what the Bible has to say to us, helping each other apply it to everyday life, supporting each other both in prayer and practically.

They also look outwards, encouraging one another to share their faith where they live and work.

How do I join?

No matter your availability, there is a group for you. With groups meeting every day of the week at various times and places, there’s sure to be a fit for you.

If you would like to find out more, or to become part of a Lifegroup, please fill out this form and a member of the team will get back to you.

Join a Lifegroup...

What if I’m new?

Our “Belong” group is open to anyone who wants to know more about following Jesus and being part of our community. It is a space for learning, discussion, questions and fellowship.

We also have a “Link” Lifegroup specific to young adults, with an aim to smooth the transition between youth groups and Lifegroups. This is also open to anyone aged 18-39.

For dates & times of the above, please contact the church office.

Lifegroup Resources

We have an extensive library of Lifegroup resources, both physical and digital, for you to use in your Lifegroups. This includes Bible study method sheets.

Please click below to browse our digital resources, and contact the church office for more information about our physical resources.

Pastoral Care & Prayer

Pastoral Care is the name we use for our ministry of compassion, encouragement and support within our Christian lives. Recognising that people are made up of body, mind and soul, NLBC seeks to provide support for people in 3 key areas: practical, emotional and spiritual. Pastoral Care works alongside our Lifegroups to offer help in times of need.

If you need support and you are either not in a Lifegroup, or your Lifegroup is unable to offer the kind of support you need, please contact the Pastoral Care team by contacting us or filling in the form below.

Our prayer ministry team is a trained team, available every Sunday morning to join with anyone who would like to seek the Lord in prayer. This can be as a response to the Lord, for personal requests and needs, or simply to say thank you or come for a blessing from the Lord. Come and find us in the prayer space at the front of the church, by the banner that says 'prayer'. For immediate prayer requests, please fill out the form below.
