NLBC Youth!

Our youth ministry here at New Life is organised into 2 age-based groups; Years 7-9 & Years 10-13. Both groups meet weekly for a time of Bible study, chat, prayer, games and of course, snacks! We believe that youth groups are foundational for a young person’s faith journey - which is why our teaching is tailored to suit each age group.

Young people at NLBC are also involved in many areas of church life such as helping with the children’s ministry, hospitality team, global mission trips, and tech team. We aim to provide many opportunities within church life to our young people - as they seek to not only learn about their faith - but to fully live within it.

Midweek groups…

Waymakers is our invite-only youth Lifegroup. Aimed at Years 7-9, we gather weekly (term-time) for 90 mins of Bible study, discussion, and prayer. The final 30 minutes consists of games and snacks with the older “John” Lifegroup - helping build relationships across groups.

Project Life is our younger youth outreach group, aimed at anyone in Years 7-9. This is an open group, where we look at exploring different topics in fun and exciting ways. This is a great group for young people to invite their friends to! Project Life runs term-time on Thursdays, 6:30pm-8pm.

“John” Lifegroup is our open, older youth Lifegroup - aimed at Years 10-13. Gathering weekly (term-time) on a Monday evening at 7:30pm-9pm, it is a time for diving deeper into scripture, exploring the latest sermon in detail, and developing friendships through games and prayer.

Once a month, we take our older youth group to a servant leadership programme called Doulos. This is a 3-year programme learning about topics such as evangelism, spiritual gifts, and growing in leadership. This is a fantastic opportunity for our youth to learn and grow together.

NLBC @ Kairos

We also annually attend Kairos - a Christian youth festival, held every August bank holiday weekend. This is an opportunity for us to spend time together as joint youth group, learning about the Bible, playing games, worshipping alongside other local youth groups, and having the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities!

For a look at what we got up to at Kairos last year see last year’s highlight video below, or visit the Kairos website for more information.
